<\/p>\nOccupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a crucial aspect of operating production forest companies. To ensure all field staff work in safe and healthy conditions, PT Wana Bakti Persada Utama (PT WBPU) delivered OSH training at the end of June 2024. This training provided an in-depth understanding of safety procedures and the importance of implementing safe work practices at every operational stage.<\/p>\n
The training took place at the company\u2019s field office and was attended by all staff involved in forest operations. The training commenced with remarks from the Head of the Human Resources Department at PT WBPU, who emphasized the company's commitment to creating a safe work environment. He also highlighted the importance of individual cooperation and awareness in maintaining personal safety and the safety of colleagues.<\/p>\n

The first session focused on introducing the basics of OSH, including statutory regulations related to work safety and Standard Operating Procedures that must be complied with. It noted the potential dangers field staff face, such as handling heavy equipment and working in difficult terrain. Hopefully, this knowledge will increase staff awareness and readiness for various field situations.<\/p>\n
The second session reviewed risk mitigation techniques and handling emergencies. Participants learned to identify risks in the field and implement preventive measures. They were also trained in evacuation procedures and handling work injuries, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.<\/p>\n
In the third session, the focus shifted to implementing Reduce Impact Logging-Carbon (RIL-C), a company initiative to reduce negative environmental impacts and improve work safety. RIL-C aims to preserve forests and reduce the risk of work accidents. Detailed instructions on safe and efficient logging techniques were provided, stressing the importance of team coordination in implementing RIL-C.<\/p>\n
Participants responded positively, noting they gained new insights and better understanding of the importance of implementing OSH in the field. PT WBPU is committed to ongoing monitoring and improvement of the OSH so that it remains relevant to the dynamic field conditions.<\/p>\n
